UFO...identified

Apparently I tell fake news...

Members of the Denver Broncos Thunderstorm skydiving team demonstrate a pyrotechnic show skydive above Vance Brand Municipal Airport in Longmont around 6 pm Tuesday. The Longmont Police Department received about a dozen calls from people reporting strange lights near the airport Tuesday night, but the lights turned out to be pyrotechnics attached to the skydivers, who were demonstrating the technique for a Denver television station. The team jumped into Invesco Field before the Broncos game Monday night.

Animal Collective = Awesomeness

This was our ride to the show. We were told that it was the same bus used in the move "Stripes". After a close examination I do believe it is the same type of bus, but there are some major differences. In short, I believe we were had. In any case it was an awesome time.

Westword did a follow up blog on the show. Read it here!

Sobriety

After developing and maintaining an unhealthy alcohol habit for about 7 years, I haven't had a drink in almost 3 weeks now. On the enlightening night that brought this on the last thing I remember is covering one of my eyes so the blur on stage turned into a comedian. What I don't remember: Knocking over drinks, getting kicked out for yelling incoherently, throwing up in the car, and ultimately pissing the bed. To remind my self how I need to take a break and return to the drink when I can do it without needing a pint of whiskey and a twelve pack for a quiet night in, heres some absolutely terrible poetry I scribbled down black out drunk and found today:

Party

I expunged a fart
Unholy and terrible
I hadn't shit myself
But each of three wipes showed brown.

A glance in the mirror
Back to the party
My ideas about ugliness and pointlessness
reinforced with my comparitive potential.
I made many laugh
But none seek my company.
If these are parties, I
Suppose I prefer them to funerals.

APB: Stolen Bike

Some asshole stole my wheels tonight. If you see anyone on my Trek, you know what you have to do. A reward will be paid in the amount of 10 packs of ramen for its safe return.

Donations to my new bike fund can be directed through my paypal account. Feel free to contact me for further information on this exciting once in a lifetime opportunity.

A social safety net...literally

The Bridge is a documentary that tells the story of the 24 people who committed suicide off The Golden Gate Bridge in 2004. There are many movies that I watch and forget very soon after. The Bridge is not one of those movies.

A 'friend' of mine just got back from San Fransisco and she took some pictures of the bridge. Apparently, they have the phones and signs you see in the pictures below for anyone thinking of taking the eternal plunge.

I just read the Golden Gate's wiki page and apparently a plastic-covered stainless-steel net will be installed below the bridge as a suicide deterrent. The net will extend 18 feet on either side of the bridge and is expected to cost $40–50 million to complete. I guess this means a few more people will be considering a trip Niagara Falls when planning their next suicide.

AP doesn't believe in fairies

The douches at the Associated Press have their panties in a bunch over Shepard Fairey's appropriation of the photo used for his well known hope poster. I guess I would be bitter too if I was a talentless piece of shit and someone took my photo and made an icon out of it. The local news station covered the story and you can read more here.

Obama didn't complain about the use of the photo and he actually thanked Shepard for the poster. Maybe Shepard should ask him to pick up his attorney fee.

I just lizzed my pants...

I am a fan of 30 Rock. On one of the last episodes, Liz Lemon made up a word. Ironically enough the term she made up was "liz"...a combo of laugh and whiz. I watched the show as it aired, and since I was at the computer I checked to see if it was in the urban dictionary. It wasn't at the time. I just checked. Sure enough "lizzed" and "lizzing" now have definitions. But no one bothered to define just "liz".

Maybe it's because "liz" already has better definitions. My favorite is this one.

1. a disease which can cause you to replicate the child of joan rivers and shrek.

I can think of a dick whose parents might have had that one...

World Series of Beer Pong?

Yeah, there is. And you can even buy an official table that folds up into a briefcase for an easy $120.

There's a $50,000 grand prize for the WSOBP. I'm thinking I should quit my day job. Well, wait a minute. In any case, I would have to say that Beer Pong was my second major in college. It would only make sense that this is my life calling.

And they're sponsored by PBR. Jah bless America!

Stereotyperider...maybe not so dead.

Well, Stereotyperider just posted an announcement stating that they will be playing in Denver on June 19th. I like to think that maybe my epitaph had something to do with this resurrection. No mention of a venue, but I'll make sure they play in my backyard if it comes down to it.

Spongebob, Sir-Mix-A-lot, and the King have teamed for notably their best commercial appearance. Though parents everywhere are writing Nick to take it off the air. Check out the entire video below.

Stereotyperider Dies at Age 9

God damn't. What pisses me off most is that we missed their last scheduled show in Denver. But it would be more correct if I said 'they' missed their last show in Denver. It always seems that travels incur accidents, it just happened to be the trailer that time. Their last show will be at The Launchpad in Albuquerque on Saturday the 25th with some guys filling in. At this point, the only thing to look forward to is new projects. I can only hope their transitions will be as good as the one from Mandingo to Stereotyperider. You can read their last blog here.

The Titan Courageous is Back

The Titan Courageous just regrouped. They're playing at the Bluebird Thursday at 8:00pm. I will try to be there, if my finances agree. They're on the space if you guys want to hear their sound...kinda floyd and volta ish, but the lead singer has a sound of his own. This guy practices his voice as he mops floors and scrubs toilets, and I have a lot of respect for that.

My grandmother thinks they rock and I agree.

yo. watch your kidney grow.

i biked 8.4 miles this morning. give or take. 705 south lincoln to 18th and gaylord. 25 blocks north and 15 blocks east. give or take. i wear regular clothes when i bike ride. but. special clothes for other things. snowboarding. swimming. tennis. church. and shit like that. but. i feel like i don't fit in with most other bike riders i see. this morning i overdressed. jeans, t-shirt, a short sleeve button up, and loafers. anyways. i worked up a healthy sweat. if i wore a helmet. i would feel more legit.
naked bike riding. i would never want to see myself actually doing this. the thought alone conjures a perverse image. but. i imagine the experience would be liberating. possibly exhilerating. dangling like a bike lock in the wind. of course you would run into problems. like. vinyl seats slippery with ass sweat. and, you would have to wear shoes. but. that's against the rules of nakedness. flip-flops and boxers. that's probably as far as i will ever come. i can't imgaine a scenario where i would have to bike ride naked. getting out of the shower and realizing that a tornado is heading straight for me and if i don't get on my bike and ride immediately, i might be swept up in it's torrent? hmmm. plausible? yes. doubtful. perhaps.

Congrats, J & C

Webster's Dictionary defines 'wedding' as 'the fusing of two metals with a hot torch.' Well you know something? I think you guys are two medals. Gold medals.

In the beginning...

As one of the creators of The Profound Whatever, I figured I would explain in the first post what I intend this blog to be all about. This is a blog for my friends, people who I know and have yet to meet. This will serve as a source to share anything and everything. If it's not appropriate for you to share elsewhere, then this is where you'll tell people about it. The possibilities will be endless. The content will reflect all of those who contribute. There will be no censoring. Which lends me to think that there will be some pretty fucked up things on here...and hopefully some fucking hilarious things as well. And while this what I intend, it is all subject to change.
